greyfade studio is a recording, mixing, & mastering studio run by grammy award-winning recording engineer & producer joseph branciforte, located just north of new york city.

with an expansive discography spanning jazz, classical, electronic, and experimental music, greyfade studio specializes in creative music in all stages of its production.

after working in and out of recording studios around new york for over a decade, engineer joseph branciforte built greyfade studio as a creative environment that functions equally well in mixing & mastering contexts, while also accomodating a variety of smaller recording dates and post-production sessions.

the studio is guided by the idea that musical content and recorded sound should not be separated conceptually, but treated as one and the same object in order to achieve their fullest impact. this means a recording environment highly sensitive to the musical intent of the artist and a clientele interested in harnessing the full power of the studio for expressive purposes.

greyfade studio comprises a comfortable control room for both attended and remote mixing & mastering, a live room for small ensembles or drum tracking, and an isolation booth with sightline to both control and live rooms. the studio embraces the best of vintage & modern analog designs, experimental sound design tools, and the cutting edge of software for audio editing and processing.

the studio's clients include grammy, pulitzer prize, and mcarthur genius award winning artists, record labels and music organizations from around the world, and some of the brightest young talents working in creative music today. the studio is located in mount vernon, ny, a short train ride from the heart of new york city. it was designed by jim keller of sondhus.
